Salter 25 Feb 1949 - Funeral services for C. L. Salter, 60, who passed away at his home near Negreet Thursday of last week were held at Little Flock Baptist church 2 p.m. Friday by Rev. Lastie N. Hoffpauir, assisted by Rev. W. G. Bailey. Interment followed under direction Massingill funeral home. Members of Floyd Jordan post of the American Legion. Pallbearers were J. B. Vandegaer, J. T. Dees, Jr., Robert B. Jackson, W. E. Curtis, George Autrey, Melvin Wright, John S. Pickett Jr., Leo Bush. Mr. Salter was a life-long resident of Sabine parish, being engaged in farming and cattle business. Surviving relatives include the widow, Mrs. C. L. Salter, Negreet; son C. H. Salter, Shreveport; brothers Willie and Charlie of Florien, Hoyt of Beaumont, Texas and Victor of Robeline; sister Mrs. Alice Carroll, Florien.
