She is survived by her husband, Troy Slater; one daughter, Marie Reynosa of Houston; two sons, Monroe Slater, Pasadena, Tex., and Alton Ray of Houston; three sisters, Mrs. Leona Duggan, Florien, Mrs. Carmenia Clements, Mansfield, and Mrs. Lovinda Miles of Houston; three brothers, Hobin Coburn, Florien, Crit Coburn, Mora, and Norman Coburn, all of Beaumont, and several grandchildren. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, with Brookside Funeral Home in charge. Burial was in the Brookside Cemetery. Mrs. Slater was a native of Sabine Parish, and lived in the Mt. Carmel area for many years, before moving to Houston.
