He was 45, a native of Florien, and a resident of Denham Springs. He had been employed 24 years at the Ethyl Corporation, and was in management supervision. Funeral services were held at Welsh Funeral Home, Baton Rouge, La., at 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 21, conducted by Rev. Steve D. Coyle, and Rev. Don Nunley. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Park, Baton Rouge, La. He was survived by his wife, Betty Calmes Salter; three daughters, Mrs. Danny (Vickie) Gunter, Sidney Salter, and Gretchen Salter, all of Denham Springs; two sons, Ricky, and John Salter, both of Denham Springs two grandchildren, Sohn, and Angela Gunter; mother, Mrs. Betty Cook Salter, Florien; four sisters, Mrs. Pascal Miller, Mrs. Kermitt Carroll, Mrs. J. T. Davis, and Mrs. Ernest Bush, all of Florien; two brothers, Sherman Salter of Florien, and Benny Salter of Minden. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, Florien. He was preceded in death by his father, Crockett Salter of Florien.
