Dr. William Lacy officiated. Burial was at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at the Many Cemetery in Many, La. Mr. Salter, a retired principal and coach in the Calcasieu Parish School System, died at 7:20 a.m., Tuesday, Dec. 13, 1983, at a Lake Charles hospital, after a long illness. He was born in Negreet, La., and had been a resident of Lake Charles since 1972. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nevada Salter, and one daughter, Mrs. William Baggett of Lake Charles; three brothers, Norman Salter of Lafayette, La., Leon Salter of Shreveport, La., and Ernest Salter of Florien, La.; six sisters, Mrs. Devonia Willard of Texarkana, Texas, Mrs. Robert Wright of Shreveport, La., Mrs. Thelma Davenport, and Mrs. Ruth Lacour of DeRidder, La., Mrs. Exa Diedel of Houston, Texas, Mrs. Juanita Edwards of Many, La.; three grandchildren.
