Funeral services for Mr. Salter were held in the Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many, at 11 a.m., Saturday, December 31. Bro. Jack Perkins, and Dr. George L. Higgins Jr. officiated. Masonic graveside services were conducted at the Many Cemetery. A native of Negreet, Mr. Salter was a retired safety director for a drilling company, a 32nd degree Mason, and a member of Harmony Lodge of Eunice. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Josie Salter of Florien; two daughters, Gennell Christian, Lake Charles, and Elizabeth Hay, El Paso, Tex.; two brothers, Norman Salter, Lafayette, and Leon Salter, Shreveport; six sisters, Mrs. Devonia Willard, Texarkana, Tex., Mrs. Leona Wright, Shreveport, Mrs. Thelma Davenport, DeRidder, Mrs. Ruth Lacour, DeRidder, Mrs. Exa Diebel, Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Juanita Edwards, Many; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were James Kirk Salter, Lee Darby Salter, Richard Salter, Doctor E. L. Edwards III, J. E. Salter, Jack W. Gardner, James E. Wright, and Richard Wright. Honorary pallbearers were J. A. Jordan, Jim Jordan, Donald Jordan, Rodney Jordan, Gerald Jordan, and William Jordan.
