All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Ponder Speight Salter Mr. Ponder Speight Salter, 92, of Many, died Friday, March 16, 1984, in the Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Many, at 3 a.m. Funeral services for Mr. Salter were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 17, in the Antioch Baptist Church, with Bro. Coda Salter, and Bro. Willard Sandiford officiating. Interment was in the Antioch Cemetery. Services were under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Mr. Salter served on the Sabine Parish Police Jury from June 1944, to May 1952. He was president of that body from June 1947 to June 1949. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zelma Miller Salter of Many; one sister, Mrs. Maudie Leach, Many, and a number of nieces and nephews.
