Salter (Cora Lorraine Peck) (Photo) Born Dec. 1, 1925, passed away Sept. 5, 1984. Services were held by Rev. Lacy, First Baptist Church in Lake Charles, La., on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 10 a.m., at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Highland Memory Gardens in Lake Charles. "Sis" passed away, Wednesday a.m., Sept. 5, of a fatal heart attack. She was born and reared at Fisher, La. Her parents were Cora and Will Peck. She graduated from Fisher High School in 1942. After graduation, she was employed as Assistant Post Mistress to Mrs. Edith Ott, until her marriage. The Lake Charles area had been her home since marriage. She was loved dearly by all who knew her, and will be so greatly missed. Survivors are husband, J. C. (Clyde) Salter; four children, Mrs. Barbara DeManie, Lake Charles, Billy Salter, Lake Charles, Mrs. Patsy Spencer, Houston, Tex., Greg Salter, Baton Rouge; eight grandchildren; two adopted sisters, Mrs. Loretta Armour, Zwolle, and Mrs. Gladys Stephens, Beaumont, Tex.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Jay Baker, Allen Johnson, Joe Rabalaes, Arnold LeBlanc, Daniel Trahan, Dalton Lyons, Kinby Broussard, and Roy Cates.
