Hiram Monroe Salter

  Funeral services for Mr. Hiram Monroe Salter, 85, were held at 4
p.m., Wednesday, August 8, at Gandy Baptist Church. Interment
followed in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren
Meadows Funeral Home. Rev. H. H. Tibbitts, and Rev. Tony Crosier
officiated.

  Mr. Salter died Monday, August 6, at Sabine Medical Center in
Many.

  He is survived by two sons, Jim Salter of Birmingham, Alabama,
and Carroll Salter of Deweyville, Texas; two daughters, Barbara
Ellzey of Florien, and Billie Cox of Shreveport; one brother,
Home Salter of Shreveport; and a host of nieces and nephews.
