"Jimmy" Salter, 55, of Florien, died Saturday, June 9, 2001, at his residence, after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, June 11, at Antioch Baptist Church in Florien, with interment following at the Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery in Florien. The Rev. Jimmie Evans officiated. Survivors include his widow, Lois Marie Salter of Florien; his mother, Mary Jo Salter of Florien; one daughter, Jessica Marie Salter, along with her best friend, Heather Small, who was very close to Mr. Salter, both of Florien; one sister, Jacqueline Blackmon and husband Carl Dean of Houston, Texas; two brothers, John W. Lewis and wife Kathy of Alexandria, and Dana Joe Salter and wife Terri of Hawkins, Texas; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers were Irvin Monroe, Allen Small, Ben Dubose, Johnny Farris, John McCormic, Dawn Carroll, Clint James, and Glen Bayhi. Honorary pallbearers were Barry Strickland, Allen Remedies, Edward Sepulvado, Bobby Maxey, Bobby Conerly, Pete Parker, Doug Robertson, Ronnie Sharbeno, Bobby Pourch, Kenneth Arthur, Kile Lewis, Chad Lewis, D. J. Salter, Larry Ray Salter, Jamie Salter, Joey Procell, Jamie Procell, Joe Wade Procell, Roy Lee Brown, Jason Ezernack, Chris Ezernack, Kirk Buster, Nick Buster, Charles Glaspie, James Glaspie, Autrey Marr, C.
