Clarence Hoy Slater

  Funeral services for Clarence Hoy Slater, 83, were held at 4
p.m., on March 25, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many.

  Officiating was Rev. Steve Neesley. Interment was in Florien
Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

  Mr. Slater passed away on March 23, 1995, in Sabine Medical
Center. Mr. Slater was born on March 3, 1912, in Florien, to Ida
Hines and George Slater.

  Mr. Slater married Naomi Lilley on June 14, 1934, in Mansfield.

  Survivors include his widow, Naomi Slater of Many; one daughter,
Beverly Slater Heald of Lufkin, Tex.; five grandchildren; seven
great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

  Pallbearers were Virgil Fields, Russell Fields, R. D. McCormick,
Thomas Bridgman, Jack Crain, and Mickey Heald.
