All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Robert Eugene Slater (Photo) Funeral services for Robert Eugene Slater, 59, of Marthaville, were held on Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 10 a.m., at Les Fontaine Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating were Revs. Roy Prewitt, and Larry DeLoach. Services were under the direction of Les Fontaine Funeral Home. He was a heavy equipment operator, and a member of IOUOE local 406, for over 25 years, and was presently employed with Robinson Contracting. Robert and his loving widow, Zelda, were married for 11 years. He was a loving husband, father, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all. Mr. Slater is survived by his wife, Zelda Pannell Slater of Marthaville; three sons, Frank Carl Slater of Delta, N. M., Michael Anthony Slater of Leesville, and Kenneth Wayne Slater of Florien; three daughters, Linda Leona Harris of Seminole, Okla., Sandra Evon Slater of Florien, and Tammy Bliss McGlothlin of Leesville; two stepsons, Dennis Lane Francis of Salida, Colo., and David Scott Francis of Pahrump, Nev.; one stepdaughter, Travy Robin Conerly of Florien; one brother, Alvin R. Slater of Nocon, Texas; 25 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Pallbearers were Kenny Rawls, John Bostic, Ron Dyes, Lambert Powell, Sam Hazen, and Gary Howell. Honorary pallbearers were Eddie Jones, and Eddie Jones Jr.
