Salter, 74, died in Many, Aug. 30, after an extended illness. Mrs. Salter is survived by her husband, R. S. Salter of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Sidney Etie of Lafayette, and Mrs. Omega Pearce of Many; two brothers, Dan Slay of Many, and Alvin Slay of Shreveport; six sisters, Mrs. Carrie Westbrook, Mrs. Lydia Pines, and Mrs. Maudie Thedford, Mrs. Lee Wagley, and Mrs. Louise Wagley of Many, and Mrs. Allie Sirman of Logansport; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Funeral services were held at Old Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Sept. 1, with the Rev. Perry Lassiter officiating. Burial was in the Old Pleasant Hill Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many. Pallbearers were Sid Etie, Phillip Slay, Wade Pynes, Mac Wagley, Felton Murphy, and Lois Vidler.
