Salter, 62, of Alexandria, died at 1:10 p.m., Saturday, at Confederate Memorial Hospital, following a long illness. Mr. Salter, an oil field worker, is survived by two daughters, Miss Irene Salter of Shreveport, and Mrs. William G. Irvine of Laredo, Tex.; a son, Chester Salter of Shreveport; three brothers, Julian Salter of Many, Waverly Salter of Alexandria, and Willis Salter of Many; two half brothers, Hoyt Woodler of Alco, and Earnest Woodler of Phoenix, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Funeral services, under the direction of First National Funeral Home, were held at 3 p.m., Sunday, in Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Many. Officiating at the services was Dr. Jason Kay. Burial was in Fender Cemetery near Many.
