Gandy "Joe" Shoalmire, Jr.

  Gandy "Joe" Shoalmire Jr. of Converse, age 70, passed away Sept.
8, at DeSoto General Hospital in Mansfield, after a lengthy
illness. Mr. Shoalmire is survived by his wife, Juanita Shoalmire
of Converse; a son, Phillip Michael Shoalmire and his wife Linda
of Denham Springs; a daughter, Pamela Darlene Banister and her
husband John of Carthage, Texas; three sisters, Louise Boyd of
Converse, Betty Brooks of Bridge City, Texas, and Joyce Copeland
of Grand Prairie, Texas; two brothers, Raymond Shoalmire, and
Charles Shoalmire, both of Converse; four grandchildren; and a
host of other relatives.

  Services were held Sunday, Sept. 10, at 2 p.m., at the First
Baptist Church of Converse, with interment at Converse Cemetery.
Pallbearers were his nephews, with the Sunday School class as
honorary pallbearers.
