Cassie Hardin Sumpter

  Mrs. Cassie Hardin Sumpter, 91, of Lake Charles, died Feb. 24,
at 6:30 a.m., after an extended illness.

  Surviving relatives are one son, Ray Sumpter of Lake Charles;
two daughters, Mrs. Jessie Smith of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Elaine
DeVore of Memphis, Tenn.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Vera
Pendergrast of Alexandria; 15 grandchildren, and 22 great
grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren; two sisters,
Mrs. Lee of Many, and Minnie Jordan of Florien.

  Funeral services were held in the Warren Meadows Chapel,
Saturday, Feb. 26, at 3 p.m., with the Rev. T. V. Owens, and the
Rev. Ray Raddin officiating. Interment was in the Belmont
Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
