Mrs. Pearl was born on April 30, 1918, to the parents George Bell and Effie Lee Manasco Bell. She was 82 years old. She was born and raised on Middle Creek, and lived in the Mt. Carmel Community with her husband of 35 years, Carrol "Shorty" Sanford. She entered into rest on Dec. 12, 2000. Mrs. Pearl lived life to the fullest, and lived every inch of her life. She was looking forward to going home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Effie Bell; three brothers, Woodrow "Son", Arthur "Bassie", and Armon "Dooie" Bell; daughter, Doris LouEllen "Lou" Shoemaker; and one grandson, Scott Murray Howell. She is survived by her husband, Carrol "Shorty" Sanford; two children, LaNell Murray Howell, and Benny MacArthur Murray; one sister, Verna Rutherford; 11 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Services were held at Warren Meadows Funeral Home in Many, with Brother Brooks Coburn officiating. Honorary pall bearers are grandsons, Benny Howell, and Benji Murray. Pallbearers are great grandsons, Sam Canady, John Leach Jr., Thomas, and Ronnie Goodman, Bo Campbell, and Terry Rutherford. We want to say a "special thank you" to the nurses and aides of the 4th floor at WKN, who took such good care of our loved one the last week of her life. A very special thank you to Linda Goodman, who gave so much of herself to Gram, as well as other family members. God's got a special bouquet for you, Linda.
