Funeral services were held at the Nolan Hills Baptist Church, Thursday, Sept. 23, at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Fred Salter Jr. officiating. Interment was in the Spring Ridge Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Surviving relatives include his wife, Sarah Sims of Oxford; seven sons, Virgil, Bobby, Randy, Jerry, and Jack T., all of Oxford, Alfred Sims of Belmont, and Johnny Sims of Pleasant Hill; eight daughters, Mrs. Katherine Leone of Shreveport, Francis, Jackie, Sandy, and Brenda Sims, all of Oxford, Mrs. Suzie Johnson of Chidester, Ark., Mrs. Virginia Fay Cooper of Whelem Springs, Ark., and Mrs. Betty Fremier of Babindale, Ark.; two stepsons, Victor Davis, Little Rock, Ark., and J. W. Hammons of Oxford; three brothers, Buddy Sims of Arkansas, James Sims, and Charlie Sims of Louisiana; two sisters, Dean Chitham of Arkansas, and Velma Williams of Louisiana, and 16 grandchildren.
