Shingleton, age 78, who died at his home, from a heart attack September 7th, were held September 9th, at the First Baptist Church of Pleasant Hill. Rev. J. C. Salley had charge of the services. He was assisted by Rev. Rial Brown, and Rev. George Sherman. Mr. Shingleton was born in St. Mary's, Pleasants County, W. Virginia. He moved to Pleasant Hill in 1927, where he was the District Superintendent of the Arkansas Fuel Oil Co. until Sept. 1955, when he retired after thirty three years of service. He is survived by his wife, the former Lucy Meadows of Charleston, W. Va.; and two children, Mrs. Melton Prothro of Haughton, and Mr. J. W. (Bea) Shingleton of Crowley; one brother, George Shingleton of St. Mary's, W. V.; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
