Ralph "Steve" Singletary

  Ralph "Steve" Singletary, 73, of Groves, Texas, died Saturday,
April 26, at Methodist Hospital in Houston.

  A native of Belmont, he had lived in Groves since 1989. He
retired from the U.S. Navy, and served in the Pacific Fleet for
20 years. After retirement, he worked in the finance business in
Dallas.

  Mr. Singletary was a member of Central Baptist Church in Port
Arthur, and a member of the Pleasant Hill Masonic Lodge No. 230
in Pleasant Hill.

  Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 30, at 10
a.m., at the Levingston Funeral Home in Groves, with the Rev.
Phil Sigman officiating. Military and Masonic graveside rites
will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Port Arthur.

  Mr. Singletary was preceded in death by his wife, Rita.

  He is survived by two daughters, Karen Hollandsworth of Denham
Springs, and Donna Lewing of Florien; one step daughter, Melody
Lewing of Groves; two sons, Keith Singletary of Marthaville, and
Ralph Singletary of Mission Viejo, California; one step son, Glen
Coffey of Groves; one sister, Lorrane Hayes of Many; two step
sisters, Mary Bozeman Osborn of Belmont, and Martha Griffith of
Louisiana; two step brothers, Richard Bozeman of Lafayette, and
Robert Bozeman of Belmont; one aunt, Lillie Rains of
Natchitoches; 12 grandchildren, Kelli Sanders of Bossier City,
Tracie Wilson of Stonewall, Chad Lewing of Vermillion, South
Dakota, Michael Lewing of Florien, Jarred Singletary of
Shreveport, Linda Williams of Campti, Pete Navarro, Natasha
Peterson, and Mary Peterson, all of Marthaville, and Carolyn
DeVillier, Kevin Coffey, and Whitney Morse, all of Groves; and
nine great grandchildren.
