All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Rosie Carnline Shoemaker Services for Rosie Carnline Shoemaker were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 20, at Union Grove Methodist Church, between Robeline and Marthaville. Burial was in Lambertown Cemetery at Shamrock. Mrs. Shoemaker, 82, of Robeline, passed away around 9:45 p.m., Sunday, August 18, at her home. On December 31, 1909, she was born to John and Lizer (Jordan) Carnline near Robeline. On April 10, 1927, she was married to Joe Shoemaker, and was blessed with a happy marriage of 63 years, and seven children. Preceding her in death were two children; a daughter, Margie Shoemaker McFerren, and a son, Odis Shoemaker. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and an upstanding citizen, who fully earned the respect and admiration of all who knew her. She was faithful, and constant in her service to the Union Grove Methodist Church, until her health failed her. She will be sadly missed by her husband, Joe Shoemaker of Robeline; two sons, Rev. Otis Shoemaker of Robeline, and George Shoemaker of Marthaville; three daughters, Lizer (Gene) Geraldine Shoemaker, Mrs. Roy (Rosa) Rawls, and Mrs. Charles (Mary) Dockens, all of Robeline; and 26 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were grandsons, Joe Lee McFerren, James Ray McFerren, Dwayne Shoemaker, Timmy Shoemaker, James Dale Shoemaker, Ricky Rawls, and Stanley Shoemaker.
