James Francis Smith

  Funeral services for James Francis Smith, 83, of Florien, was held
at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, in Pisgah Baptist Church. The Rev.
A. J. Dupree of Coushatta, and the Rev. C. C. Pearce of Many
officiated. Burial was in Fairdale, Tex., under the direction of
Hixon Funeral Home of Leesville.

  Mr. Smith died Friday, April 3, in Many.

  Survivors include his widow; one son, Alton Smith of Pineland; one
daughter, Mrs. Lola Herrington of Pineland; two step-daughters, Mrs.
Mary Wells, and Mrs. Zemarh Arnold, both of Shreveport; two sisters,
Mrs. Nettie Williams of Hemphill, Tex., and Mrs. Dellia Williams of
Tyler Tex., 17 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were grandsons, Sandy, and Robert Smith, Billy Ray,
Willie Earl, and Robert Herrington, Ben Arnold, Theodore, and
McCarthy Wells.
