Cecil Smith

  Funeral services were held in Martin and Castille Chapel in
Lafayette, at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 24, for Cecil Smith, 80,
who died at Lafayette General Hospital, Tuesday afternoon, April
22.

  Interment followed in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

  Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Rutha Faye Green Smith of
Broussard; two sons, Bob Smith of Broussard, and Carl Smith of
Abbeville; three grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two
sisters, Mrs. Marie Johnson of Tulsa, Okla., and Mrs. Evelyn
McMinn of Barnsdall, Okla.

  A native of Mineral Wells, Tex., and a resident of Broussard for
the past seven years, Mr. Smith was the son of the late John
Cecil Smith, and Elizabeth Isabelle Smith. He was retired with
Sun Oil Co., with 38 years of service as a pumper.

  Martin and Castille Funeral Home was in charge of funeral
arrangements.
