Isaac (Ike) Smith

  Funeral services for Mr. Isaac (Ike) Smith, 74, of Mansfield,
were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 29, in Drewett Memorial
Chapel, Rev. Ben Joyner, assisted by Rev. Martin Salisbury,
officiating. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery, Mansfield,
under the direction of Drewett Funeral Home.

  Mr. Smith died at 1 p.m., Sunday, July 27, at DeSoto General
Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

  He was a native of Sabine Parish, and a member of Benson Baptist
Church. Mr. Smith was also a retired rural mail carrier.

  Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bessie M. Smith; one son, Jerry
M. Smith, Mansfield; four brothers, Murray Smith, Mansfield, Amos
Smith, Gibsland, La., Floyd Smith, Lake Charles, and Claude
Smith, Converse, La.; one sister, Mrs. Ada Gossett, Lake Charles;
and two grandchildren.
