Josie S. Smith

  Services for Mrs. Josie S. Smith, 79, of Shreveport, were held
at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20, at Drewett Memorial Chapel in
Mansfield, and the Rev. J. N. Myers officiating. Burial was in
Oxford Cemetery.

  Mrs. Smith, a native of Oxford, and a resident of Shreveport for
45 years, died Aug. 18, 1983, at the Louisiana Nursing Home.

  She is survived by one son, Howard Smith, Jr. of Shawnee
Mission, Kan.; one daughter, Cordella Durham of Baton Rouge; and
two sisters, Fay Townsend of Shreveport, and Katherine Ritter of
Many.
