All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith Mr. Harold Clifford Smith, age 63, and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Smith, age 56 of Many, Louisiana, died Sunday, August 28, 1983, in Conroe, Texas, as a result of an auto accident on Farm Market Rd. No. 188?. Joint graveside services, with full military honors, were observed for Mr. Smith, and were held Thursday, at 2 p.m., in the Alexandria National Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana, September 1. Officiating were Bro. John B. Koelemay. Mr. and Mrs. Smith are survived by 3 sons, George Allen Smith of White Castle, La., Charles Roger Smith of Haughton, La., Roy "Cotton" Smith, Pinehurst, Texas; 1 daughter, Mrs. Shirley A. Durham of Walls, Miss.; and 8 grandchildren. Mr. Smith is also survived by his mother, Mrs. Grace J. Smith of Fort Smith, Ark.; 2 brothers, Wayne Smith, Fort Smith, Ark., Loyd Smith, Rockingham, N. C.; 2 sisters, Iva Lee Schlinker of Fort Smith, Ark., Yvonne Smith, Fort Smith, Ark. Mr. Smith was a retired 20 year Army Veteran. He was a member of the Merrill's Marauders in World War II., Honorary Red Devil, U. S. Army Tank Corp. He served in the Korean Conflict, was a member of the National Association for Retired Federal Employees, member of the VFW Post No. 4858, Many, and also the DAV of Many. Mr. Smith attended the Prospect Methodist Church of Florien. Mrs. Smith is also survived by her parents, Ernest A. Partin, and Myrtle Partin of Many; 1 brother, Charles A. Partin of Denham Springs, La.; and 1 sister, Doris Tucker of Meeker, Oklahoma. Military Personnel served as pallbearers. Graveside services were under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
