The Rev. James E. Messer, pastor of Kelley Memorial Baptist Church, where Mrs. Smith was a member, officiated. Burial was at Centuries Memorial Park. Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, September 26, 1984, at her residence, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Ajax, La., and had been a resident of Shreveport for 50 years. She is survived by her husband, Mr. T. Wray Smith of Shreveport; two sisters, Mrs. Opal Durrett of Kilgore, Texas, and Mrs. Irene Berry of Pleasant Hill, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Albert Bolton, Sam Lee Jr., C. J. Walker, Walter Walker, O. B. Gregory, and Gene McKaskle. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
