The Rev. Wayne DuBose, pastor, officiated, assisted by the Rev. Eddie DeHondt, associate pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church, where Mr. Smith was a member. Interment was in Centuries Memorial Park. Mr. Smith entered into rest Friday, July 5, 1985, at Schumpert Medical Center. He was born July 17, 1912, in Zwolle, La., and was a retired butcher for Kroger Stores. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mildred Barr Smith; a sister-in-law, Ellie Lee Barr; and a brother-in-law, John Clinton Snell; two sisters, Mrs. Wright Prothro, and Mrs. Charles Griffin, all of Shreveport; two brothers, Odie Smith of Shreveport, and Leroy Smith of Monroe, La.; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were M. E. Marr, O. B. Glisan, Carol Sipes, James Popejoy, R. C. Morris, and J. C. Strickland. Honorary pallbearers were E. E. Prince, and Dr. Seborn Woods.
