Larry Joyner officiating, and Rev. Francis Smith assisting. Burial was held in Union Springs Cemetery. Mr. Smith died Sunday, March 7, 1993, in Shreveport, following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of DeSoto Parish, and a longtime member of the Union Springs Baptist Church. He had reached the 32 Degree in the Pelican Masonic Lodge, and was also a Shriner in the El Karubah Shrine of Shreveport. He is survived by two brothers, Floyd B. Smith of Lake Charles, La., and Amos C. Smith of Gibbsland, La.; eight nephews; and two nieces. Pallbearers were Roger Smith, Frank Smith, Jerry Smith, Bernard Smith, Gary Smith, and Bob Farmer. Honorary pallbearer was Bill Gossett.
