Isaiah 40:31. SM SGT (Ret.) Samuel A. Smith was born May 12, 1940, to Mr. Lopzia Smith Sr. and the late Mrs. Eula Blair Smith of Many. He departed this life Feb. 11, 1996, in San Antonio, Texas. He confessed Christ at an early age, at the Church of God in Christ in Belmont. SM SGT Smith was united in Holy Matrimony with Doris Smith on July 8, 1995. Samuel leaves to mourn, a loving wife, Doris Smith; father, Lopezia Smith Sr.; sons, Warren Smith, and Anthony Smith; and four sisters, Virginia Carroll of Los Angeles, Catherine White, and Betty Williams of Many, Brenda Pujoue of Houston; two brothers, Levorn Davis of Oakdale, and Lopezia Smith Jr. of Many; also a host of nieces, nephews; three brothers-in-law; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Josephine Hicks, and Irma Smith.
