Gladys W. Smith

  Funeral services for Gladys W. Smith, 86, of Marthaville, were
held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 1997, at 2 p.m., at the Chapel of
Blanchard-St. Denis. Officiating was Rev. Roland George.
Interment was at Marthaville Cemetery, under the direction of
Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home.

  Mrs. Smith died Saturday, Jan. 4, at North Sabine N. H.,
Pleasant Hill. She was a native of Center, Texas, and a member of
the Anthony Baptist Church near Marthaville.

  Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, J. D. Smith;
son, Tommy Everette Smith; and brother, Bud Wynne.

  She is survived by one son, Bobby Ray Smith of Deweyville,
Texas; one daughter, Linda Richard of Lake Charles; 11
grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

  Pallbearers were John C. Smith, Jimmy D. Smith, Jeffrey T.
Smith, Jimmy W. Smith, Joey D. Masterson, and Keith A. Smith.
