Santos, age 18 years, was drowned last Thursday evening near Bison's ferry on Sabine river, while seining with his two brothers, Fred and Jessie, when he stepped into a whirlpool. Being fully dressed, he was unable to swim well. His brothers tried frantically to rescue him. Fred was so near drowned that artificial respiration was required to revive him. A rescue party of citizens from Noble and surrounding territory was summoned. The body was recovered late Thursday night by Monroe Grantham of Noble. Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Santos and his two brothers, all of Noble. Interment was in the Sulphur Springs cemetery Friday.
