Mr. Ira Warren Sandel

  Mr. Ira Warren Sandel died Friday, Feb. 6. He was born to John Monroe
and Laura Jane Lee Sandel on September 1, 1902 in Florien and he was
the youngest of 10 children.

  Mr. Sandel was a member of Prospect Methodist Church.

  Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8 at Warren Meadows
Funeral Home in Many with interment following at Florien Cemetery.
Bro Nick Hilton and Bro. Boyd officiated.

  Survivors include two daughters, Frances Lorena Dowden and husband,
Billie Eugene and Ira Lucille Dowden, both of Hornbeck; one son.
Warren DeWayne Sandel and wife, Quinda Sue Sneed Sandel of Florien;
seven grandchildren, Brenda Sue Hilton and husband, Douglas, Sherrill
Annette Carter and husband, David, Rita Kay Hilton and husband, Nicky
Lynn, Vicki Jean Prichard, Cindy Lee Nolen, Steven Jiles Dowden and
wife, Dorothy Marie Hale Dowden, and Bobby Wayne Dowden and wife,
Cassandra; 13 great-grandchildren, Jason Douglas Hilton and wife,
Joanie Elizabeth Potter Hilton, Amy Gail Hilton, Staci Michelle
Woodward, Haley Alyse Woodward, Ryan Matthew Woodward, Jeremy Lynn
Hilton, Jacob McKinley Hilton, Brandy Denise Prichard, Shelby Lane
Prichard, Mackinzie Alaine Nolen, Whitley Alise Dowden and Braegan
Gage Dowden; one great-great-grandchild, Joseph Douglas Hilton; and
a host of relatives and friends. Mr. Sandel was preceded in death by
his wife of over 60 years, Mabel Frances Williams Sandel and a
son-in-law, Bobbie Gene Dowden.

  Pallbearers were David Carter, Bobby Wayne Dowden, Steven Dowden,
Jermie, Hilton, Bill Kelly, Jason Hilton. Honorary pallbearers were
nephews, Garland Chism, Asa Curtis, Johnson Sandel, Clearance Chism,
Ted Bolton and P. W. Bush; and great-grandsons, Aaron Dowden, Ryan
Woodward and Jacob Hilton.
