All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index Mrs. Gordon Sandlin - December 13, 1973 Mrs. Gordon Sandlin, 66, died Saturday, Dec. 8 in a Shreveport hospital after a lengthy illness, she was a native of Pleasant Hill and was employed as a welfare visitor for Natchitoches parish. Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 10 in the First Baptist Church of Natchitoches with the Rev. James Carter and the Rev. Troy Wheeler officiating. Burial was in Memory Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Blanchard's Funeral Home of Natchitoches. Survivors are her husband; one son, W. G. Sandlin Jr. of Arlingron, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Octavia Champagne of Ponchatoula, Mrs. June Raines of Many and Mrs. Martha K. Talbert of Natchitoches; one brother, Wise H. McFerrin of Pleasant Hill; four sisters, Mrs. Harry Bissell of Longview, Tex., Mrs. Cora Durham of Jennings, Mrs. Ruby Tompkins of Many and Mrs. Lula Russell of New Orleans; 11 grandchildren.
