Sandell Funeral services for Alvin Floyd Sandell, 79, of Florien, were held June 30, in the Oak Grove Baptist Church in Hornbeck. Burial was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Mr. Sandell, a retired Baptist minister, died suddenly Tuesday, June 28, en route to a clinic in Many. Survivors are his widow; nine sons, Floyde Sandell, and Chris Sandell, both of Florien, Troy Sandell of Hornbeck, Alvin Sandell Jr. of Gretna, Huey Sandell of Beaumont, Loye Sandell of Converse, Autrey Sandell of Minden, Jether Sandell, and Talmage Sandell of Houston; four daughters, Mrs. Floy Flippen of Joplin, Mo., Mrs. Una Lea Savell of Port Arthur, Mrs. Ural Hutchison of Austin, Tex. and Mrs. Lela Mae Evans of Midwest City, Ala.; four brothers, Floyd Sandell of Oakdale, Tyron Sandell of Many, Ester Sandell of Big Springs, Tex., and Ralph Sandell of Pecos, Tex.; one sister, Mrs. Julie Rayburn of Hornbeck; 25 grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
