Sanders, 71, of Shreveport, were held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 24, at Rose-Neath's Southside Chapel. Rev. Thurman Davis, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Centuries Memorial Park. He died Saturday, January 22, 1983, at his residence, after a brief illness. Mr. Sanders was a native of Many, and a resident of Shreveport most of his life, He was retired from Southwestern Electric Power Company, and a member of Southside Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Ida Mae Sanders of Shreveport; three daughters, Ruby Lee Elliott of Lafayette, Ida Bell Meadows of Tyler, Texas, and Betty Sue Hale of Kilgore, Texas; five sisters, Eva Jamison of Pleasant Hill, Leva Peacock, and Jean Flenniken, both of Mansfield, Lenora Boyce of Shreveport, and Denise Meeks of Grand Cane; one brother, J. L. Sanders of Karnack, Texas; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
