Verlyn Cutrer Sanders

  Funeral services for Verlyn Cutrer Sanders, 86, were held
Monday, April 1, 1996, at Warren Meadows Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment followed at Ft. Jesup Cemetery, with Rev. Bill Hines,
and Rev. Bob Spear officiating.

  Mrs. Sanders graduated from Many High School, received a B.A.
Degree from Northwestern State College, and a Master's Degree in
Library Science from L.S.U. She served as librarian for
California Oil Co. (Chevron) for many years, and retired as a
school librarian in Jefferson Parish.

  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution,
Sabine Chapter, and the Eastern Star. She was a member of the
First Baptist Church of Many.

  She is survived by a sister, Bessie C. Elliott of Many; two
nieces, Carole Elliott Nett of Gramercy, and Susan Cutrer Pate of
Shreveport; three nephews, Jerry Cutrer of Roswell, Ga., Ted Mims
of Springfield, Ill., and George O. Elliott Jr. of Hornbeck; a
stepson, Lynn Sanders of Fla.

  Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her husband, Murrah A.
Sanders; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. I. W. Cutrer Sr.; a brother,
Warren Cutrer; and a sister, Vernice C. Mims.

  Pallbearers will be Ted Mims, Alan Fullerton, Marvin Adams,
Raymond Isgitt, Don Nett, and W. E. "Boots" Hayes.
