Snell 17 Mar 1939 - Funeral services were held Friday, March 10, 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist church for W. I. (Mimp) Snell, who died at his home here after a long illness. Rev. L. A. Vermillion of Calvary Baptist church conducted the services with interment in Jerusalem cemetery. Mr. Snell was born in Alabama in 1870 and came to this state, Sabine parish, in 1898, where he had made his home ever since. He was one of Sabine's foremost farmers and was well known throughout this part of the state. He leaves a widow; three sons, Wesley, Bill and J. B.; two daughters, Mrs. J. L. Norris and Miss Myrtie Snell; two brothers, L. L. Snell of Pineapple, Ala., and J. L. Snell of Many; one sister, Mrs. J. L. Dees of Many. Mr. Snell visited relatives and friends in Alabama last July, spending nearly a month.
