Wesley Snell, 60, of Many, died Saturday, April 28, at 10:15 a.m., after a short illness. Funeral services were held Monday, April 30, at 10 a.m., at the Many First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Perry Lassiter officiating. Interment was in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Irene Snell of Many; one son, Jere Snell of Many; four daughters, Miss Barbara Snell of Many, Mrs. Geraldine Poplawski of Chicago, Mrs. Mary Lites of Pineville, and Mrs. Rose Gary of Shreveport; one brother, William J. Snell of Many; two sisters, Mrs. J. L. Norris of Many, and Mrs. Myrtle Jabbia of Natchitoches, and 13 grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers were George Cook, C. D. Dees, John Byrd, J. L. Norris, Ben Roberson, and Hoy Lee. Other pallbearers were Masons, C. D. Worsham, E. L. Palmer, Edwin R. Lites, M. F. Murray, H. W. Wright, and H. David Davis.
