Cook Snell were held Tuesday, June 29, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home, with Dr. Ira Campbell officiating. Burial followed in the Russell Cemetery. Mrs. Snell, 87, of Natchitoches, died at 2:10 a.m., in the Natchitoches Parish Long Term Care Unit. (Day and date of death was Sunday, June 27.) Mrs. Snell was a native of Florien, and was a custodian at the Berean Baptist Church in Houston, Tex. She was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church, Natchitoches. Survivors include two sons, Dr. Roy A. Cook, and Grady Cook of Natchitoches; three daughters, Mary Ellen Hinze of Batson, Tex., Martha Gibbs of Spring, Tex., Eloise Williams of Dayton, Tex.; one sister, Era Funderburk of Oak Forest, Tex.; and one brother, Nathan Westbrook of Natchitoches; many grand and great grandchildren. Visitations were held Monday, from 5-8 p.m., and Tuesday, from 8 p.m. until service time in the funeral home.
