All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Ethel Small Funeral services for Mrs. Ethel Small, 88, of Galveston, formerly of Many, were held Monday, August 26, 1996, at Memorial Chapel of First Baptist Church, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Bobby Smith, and Rev. Denton Bassett officiating. Interment was Tuesday, August 27, at Many Cemetery. Mrs. Small passed away Saturday, August 24, at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Tex. She was born October 20, 1907. She lived most of her life in Many. Galveston had been her home for the past 21 years. Her devotion and commitment to God and family was an example to her children, grandchildren, and all who knew Mrs. Small. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Galveston, where she taught an adult Bible Class until her health failed. Her dedication to, and care for people endeared her to Holland House residents. Mrs. Small was preceded in death by her husband, Benaugh Small. She is survived by one son, Robert Small of Zavalla, Tex.; three daughters, Faye Simion of Galveston, Tex., Bobbie Begnaud of Abbeville, and Delores Letsos and her husband George of Galveston; one sister, Grace Jackson; one brother, Arthur McCollister, both of Many; a dear sister-in-law, Kathleen Broyles of Ruston; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Mike Letsos, Paul Patout, Ray Dudley, Jacque Hollman, and Chris Runnells. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Women's Missionary Society Mission Fund of First Baptist Church, or to the charity of your choice.
