Simon and his family were returning home from a vacation in Pleasant Hill, when the tragedy occurred. He was born and raised in Pleasant Hill. Simon, who as a freight truck driver, had resided in Arizona for twenty years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Roxine Simon of Phoenix, Arizona; two sons, Michael and Jimmy Simon; his parents; two brothers, Johnny Perry Simon of Pleasant Hill, and Limon Simon of Monroe; one sister, Mary Simon of Shreveport; and a host of friends and relatives. Funeral services were held at Weber Mortuary in Phoenix on Wednesday, August 2, at 10 a.m. Burial was in a Phoenix Cemetery.
