Rev. Mac McGough officiated. Mr. Simmons donated his body to cancer research. He was a Christian, a deacon, past Worshipful Master of Many Lodge #411, a member of Scottish Rite, Chaplain of the Many Shrines Club, a member of El Karubah Temple, and Past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star, Sabine Chapter #171. He was also a veteran of WWII, and the Korean War. Among other honors, he received the Purple Heart. Mr. Simmons was also a member of Disabled American Veterans. He is survived by his wife, Doris Simmons; one daughter, Dana Kaiglen of Satellite Brock, Florida; two sons, Donald Simmons Jr. of Gautier, Miss., and Frank Simmons of Hattiesburg, Miss.; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Edward Simmons of Lumberton, Miss., and Kenneth Simmons of Purvis, Miss.; three sisters, Eunice Foster of Pic, Miss., Leatrice Kesith of Purvis, Miss., and Pearl Price of Santa Fe, Texas.
