Skinner 6 Nov 1959 - Funeral rites for W. F. Skinner, age 96 years, were held Tuesday at 3 p.m. at the Belmont Baptist church with Rev. Oliver Roberts and Rev. Louis Skinner officiating. Interment was in the Belmont cemetery under the direction of the Warren Funeral home. Survivors include, three daughter, Mrs. C. L. Carmical of Many, Mrs. U. M. Fenston, Shreveport and Miss Josie Skinner, Many; eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: T. M. Phillips, J. R. Boone, Ted Royals, W. H. Pearson, J. B. Vandegaer, Jack Jordan, Bennie McNeely and Melvin Wright. Mrs. Skinner passed away at the family home at Belmont, Monday, Nov. 2, at 6:15 a.m. after a long illness. Mr. Skinner was a life-long resident of Sabine Parish, served as sheriff from 1916 to 1920 and from 1924 to 1932. He has been in retirement since his last term as sheriff.
