Officiating was the Rev. Joe Bob Alexander, pastor of Western Hills Baptist Church, and the Rev. James E. Messer, pastor of Kelly Memorial Baptist Church. Burial was in forest Park West. He died at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 1983, at his residence in Shreveport. Mr. Skinner, a native of Many, had resided in Shreveport for the past 50 years. He was a retired employee for Libby-Owens Ford Glass Company, and a member of Kelly Memorial Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Marine veteran of World War II. Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Josie Skinner of Many, his wife, Mrs. Bessie Skinner, and daughter, Gloria Ann Thompson, and three grandchildren, Christopher Charles Thompson, Danny Joseph Thompson, and Jamie Angleia Thompson, all of Shreveport. Pallbearers will be Dude Gilley, Lawrence Kent, V. O. Johnson, Sam Yates, Ben Jeter, and Charlie Cain.
