William Ronald Skinner, 48, of Lake Charles, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the First Baptist Church of Gillis, La., with the Rev. Al Gaspard officiating. Assisting was the Rev. Francis LaRocque. Burial was in Belmont Cemetery in Belmont, La., at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday. Services were under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles. The Rev. Skinner, a native of Many, La., died at 12:30 p.m., Aug. 11, 1985, in Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He has been a resident of the Lake Charles area for the past 20 years. He was pastor of the First Baptist Church of Gillis, La. for the past 10 years, and was a retired professor of speech from McNeese University, after 20 years of service, where he was also a debate coach. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Sylvia Skinner of Lake Charles; one son, William Ronald Skinner Jr. of Lake Charles; two daughters, Miss Ronda Michelle Skinner of Alexandria, and Miss Tonya Rochelle Skinner of Lake Charles; and two brothers, James Larry Skinner of Many, and Asa Allen Skinner of Leesville, La.
