Carmel Baptist Church, at 10 a.m., April 11, with Rev. Earl Marr, Rev. Jason Kay, and Rev. Virgil Taylor officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery, under the direction of Warren Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Loy Strickland, Arlon, and Billy Ray Skinner, Dewayne, and Ray Weldon, and J. B. Anderson. Survivors are four sons, Monroe, and Roy Skinner, both of Florien, Rev. Louis Skinner of Belmont, Jeff Skinner of Azusa, Calif.; daughters, Mrs. Nora Strickland, Mrs. Cora Smith, Mrs. Ora Weldon, Mrs. Exie Anderson, Mrs. Etta Wyatt, Mrs. Thera Mothershed, Mrs. Bessie Weldon, all of Florien, Mrs. Melva Curry of Baton Rouge, Mrs. Pearlie Dupree of Deville; brothers, Robert Stewart of Shreveport, Andy Steward of Robeline, Clarence, and Cleveland Steward of Florien, Rev. Claude Steward of Winnfield, Rollie Steward of Marthaville; sisters, Mrs. Josie Pentecost, Mrs. Mora Thaxton, both of Florien; 50 grandchildren; 81 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren.
