Mr. L. Van Scarbroek

  Mr. L. Van, Scarbroek, was born in Belgium, and emigrated to
this country at about the age of Fifteen years, and was about
sixty years of age at the time of his death, which occurred the
sixth day of January 1882.

  It was the pleasure of the writer to make the acquaintance of
Mr. Scarbroek very soon after his arrival in this country.  As a
man and citizen he was upright, punctual and true; and as a father
and husband, he was considerate, kind, gentle and affectionate.
Take him all in all, He was as good and true a man as ever lived a
spotless and blameless life and died loved and mourned by his
relatives and friends, and regretted and honored by the whole
community.  Peace be to his ashes.
