Burial was at the church cemetery, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home's Haughton Chapel. Mrs. Scruggs, a housewife, died Sunday, July 27, 1986, at Highland Hospital in Shreveport, after a long illness. She was born March 22, 1920, in Florien, La. She is survived by her husband, Ed Scruggs of Haughton; one daughter, Becky Jarrell of Athens, La.; one son, Glenn Scruggs of Shreveport; three grandsons, Lance, Bryan, and Chad Scruggs of Shreveport; three granddaughters, Tammy Maupin of Bossier City, Kim David of Athens, La., and Angela Scruggs of Washington; one great granddaughter, Stephanie Maupin of Bossier City; four sisters, Mildred Arthur of Many, Ellen Yeldell of Hemphill, Edna Stoker of Robeline, and Madbel Ferris of Bossier City; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Dowden of Hornbeck, and Mavis Dowden of Lake Charles. Pallbearers were nephews.
