All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Vernon Scroggins Funeral services for Mr. Vernon Scroggins, 80, were held on March 21, 1995, at 10 a.m., at the Full Gospel Church of Hornbeck, La., under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Rev. Ted Cabra, Rev. Jerry Ford, and Rev. Allen Fitts officiated. Interment followed in the Florien Cemetery. Military graveside services were provided by the local Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Scroggins passed away on March 19, 1995, at Byrd Memorial Hospital. Mr. Scroggins was born on August 12, 1914, in Vernon Parish, La., to Minnie Katherine Gunter and James Albert Scroggins. He was married to Rita Lewing on July 14, 1945, in Leesville, La. Survivors are his wife, Rita Scroggins of Hornbeck; one son, Vernon L. Scroggins of Hornbeck; two daughters, Patsy Thaxton of Hornbeck, and Leada Jinks of Anacoco; three sisters, Wanda Walker of Shreveport, Lucy Scroggins of New Orleans, and Patricia Ebarb of Shreveport; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren; also a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Jesse Arnold, Vernon Scroggins, Randy Jinks, Ricky Glaspie, Douglas Scroggins, and Daniel Jinks.
