Lucy E. Sherwood

  Services for Mrs. Lucy E. Sherwood, 88, of Converse, was held at
3 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 21, at the Fellowship Baptist Church
near Converse. The Rev. Melvin Prothro, and the Rev. Ray Jenkins
officiated. Burial was at Oak Grove Cemetery.

  Mrs. Sherwood, a native and lifelong resident of Converse, died
suddenly, Sunday, Sept. 18, 1983, in Pleasant Hill, La.

  She is survived by two sons, Samuel L. Sherwood of Palestine,
Texas, and T. B. Sherwood of Converse; two daughters, Mrs.
Bernice Magee of Converse, and Mrs. Irma Carroll of Xenia, Ohio;
two brothers, Luther Eagan of El Dorado, Ark., and William Eagan
of Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Beulah Neal of Mansfield, La., and
Mrs. Nannie Moore of Converse; six grandchildren; eight great
grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
